In September, Shanghai GM ranked first with 31,719 passenger cars sold. Shanghai Volkswagen (26,698), FAW Volkswagen (25,593), Guangzhou Honda (23,100) and Beijing Hyundai (20,500) ranked from second to fifth respectively. Chery and Geely, two major Chinese car makers with their own brands, also had sales above 10,000 cars in September. In September, Chery sold 17,550 cars and Geely sold 10,483 cars.
