People’s Bank of China Survey Indicates CGPI Rose by 3.1% in the Past Nine Months

27 Oct. 2005 (China Knowledge) - Statistics released by the People’s Bank of China on 25 Oct 2005 showed that in September, the general level of corporate goods prices fell by 0.1% compared to the previous month, rising by 1.4% compared to the same period last year and by 1% compared to the beginning of the year. In the past nine months of this year, corporate goods prices rose by 3.1% compared to the same period last year.

The corporate goods price index (CGPI) is worked out by the People’s Bank of China and reflects changes in prices on investment and trade between companies, it is also a macroeconomic index that reflects price trends.

The figures show, that in September, the price of agricultural products fell by 0.3% compared to the previous month and by 1.2% compared to the same period last year. The price of foodstuffs fell by 0.2% compared to the previous month and by 1.7% compared to the same period last year; the price of cotton rose by 0.2% compared to the previous month and fell by 0.9% compared to the same period last year. The price of consumer goods fell by 0.1% compared to the previous month and by 0.8% compared to the same period last year. The price of iron ore rose by 1.3% compared to the previous month and by 13% compared to the same period last year. The price of steel fell by 2.2% compared to the last month and by 4.7% compared to the same period last year. The price of steel ingots fell by 1% compared to the last month and rose by 11.6% compared to the same period last year.

The price of coal fell by 0.4% compared to last year and rose by 15.1% compared to the same time last year. The price of crude oil rose by 2.4% and by 72.1% compared to the same period last year. The price of refined oil went up by 0.7% and by 20% compared to the same period last year.

Il gruppo farmaceutico britannico fornisce un divdendo del 5% (su cui con il Regno Unito non si pagano ritenute alla fonte, dunque niente doppia imposizione). Probabilmente meno rischioso di una obbligazione. Selezione separata di titoli inglesi al portafoglio mondiale.
